Christmas Lights ... In April?

This post will be rounding up my 2014 updates.  Yep, you guessed it...this one is from the Christmas season.  I know I'm so behind, with it being April and all but I had to share this with you.

My mom and I went on the "Jingle Bus" tour in Milwaukee where the bus rides around different historical places in the city.  The tour guides give the history of the places as the bus rides by.  The tour included different business and parks around the city.  It's always done around the holidays because the downtown area is decorated with lights.

The meeting place for the tour was at the Grand Avenue Mall.  When we purchased our tickets, we were given the time of our tour along with a voucher for a free cookie and hot cocoa.  All for only one dollar!  Each bus left 20 minutes after the next and the actual tour/ bus ride lasted about 40 minutes each.

We had about an hour wait before our bus left so we got our cookie and hot cocoa while we waited.  We also walked around to view the decorations.

They even had an orchestra of bears.  Too cute!

Once we got on the bus I was determined to get a lot of pictures.  However, it was a little trickier than I thought it would be since the bus was constantly moving and there was a glare on the bus window a lot of times.  I got a couple good pictures, though.

Gingerbread Man!

There were a lot more place that either came out blurry when I took the picture or that I just wasn't fast enough to get the picture at all with the bus moving.

Although it was some nice scenery, honestly my mom and I weren't exactly thrilled.  We thought we were going to see a lot more lights than we did.  It seemed like the only places on the tour that had really nice lights were the parks.

Since our Christmas light craving wasn't satisfied, my mom had an idea to drive by the Miller Brewing lights display.  The display is only about a block or two long but they really go all out! Every 15 minutes or so, the light show would begin and would last for about 10 minutes.  We didn't even know this existed until my mom saw it mentioned on TV earlier that week.  She was determined to see it from that moment on.

We caught the last few minutes of the previous show when we first got there, then we waited until it began again and watched it from the beginning.  It was great!  It was COLD so I took the pictures while sitting in the car.  I got so many great pictures that I can't possibly put them all on here, but I'll share as many of them with you as I can.

The Miller lights show ended the night off perfectly.  It was a long night but overall it was a great excursion with Mommy!

Food, Mascots and BINGO!

I'm still playing catch up with my updates and this one is about an event that was at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee.

I remember not really wanting to go but my sister talked me into it and I'm so glad she did!  It was so much fun.  We got to see the mascots for the Bucks and the Admirals, and ate some really yummy food.

It was actually quite funny.  While my sister and I were sitting at the table (just after we finished eating), I saw Bango.  As soon as I saw him, I told my sister "There's Bango!", then I ran over there like a little kid!  Then I turned around a few seconds later and my sister was right behind me acting like a little kid as well.

Here's Bango

Then came Roscoe

My sister and I hunted both of them down to get a picture with the two of them together.  The problem was, random kids kept jumping in the picture!  Finally we were able to get the two of them alone.

After we chased down the mascots, my sister talked me into playing bingo.  I actually can't remember the last time I played before that night.  Oddly enough my sister and I both won at the exact same time!  Apparently that wasn't enough for her because she played a few more times until she won again, lol.  We won a bag full of Bucks merchandise and a few other things.

All in all it was a really fun night.

Dinosaurs and Updates!

Well, I promised after being on hiatus for 2 years the last time that I would never be gone that long again.  I kept my promise...this time I was only gone a year and a half! LOL

I'm going to give you some updates and let you know a little about what's been going on.  This is going to be a long post, but I promise not to bore you too much!

Originally, I was having some issues with my computer (Windows/Explorer) at the time and was unable to really create a normal post, so I stopped blogging and planned to continue again once I got the problem figured out.  Well, I finally corrected the issue but then life got CRAZY!

Since then I've moved and will be moving again, shortly.  I hate moving, by the way!  Also, I finally went back to being self-employed back in January last year so I've been really busy getting everything together with that.  Things actually took a little longer to carry out than I planned but now everything is coming together quite nicely and I can finally breathe.

Starting around autumn last year, one of my sisters has been dragging me with her to different events.  I'll be sharing with you today the pictures from one of those events.  This particular event was when she and I went to see "Walking With Dinosaurs" back in October last year.

Neither one of us have any kids but she was able to get free tickets so we were like, "Hey, why not".

The audience was told not to take pictures with a flash so I did the best I could with my cell phone camera.  Although, I think the ushers had a problem with the light from the cell phones because we kept seeing them ask others who were taking photos with their phone (without a flash) to stop.  So my sister was on the look out while I snapped the photos (shhh).  She wouldn't actually take any photos herself, she just made me take them then told me to send them to her.  That's older sisters for you...always making the youngest do the the dirty work! LOL

The pictures below were at the very beginning before the dinosaurs came out, when the narrator was talking about their environment/habitat.

Then came the dinosaurs

It was actually pretty funny that when I looked closely, I could see the people in the machine, driving to make the dinosaurs move around the floor.

I had way more pictures (despite my sister making me smuggle them, lol), but I didn't want to make this post longer than it already is.

Overall, it was a good show.  All of the kids there loved it and it was very educational.

I'll be back soon, with pictures from another excursion with my sister and one with my mom.  See you soon!
