Happy Winter!

First Day of Winter!

With the Winter Solstice taking place today (here in the Northern Hemisphere), we will unfortunately deal with the shortest day (and longest night) of the year.  However, the good news is that starting tomorrow the days will begin to get longer and longer again until the first day of Summer next year.

We actually had some really nice weather here in Southeastern Wisconsin all the way up until about a week ago.  We had really been "spoiled".  However, the cold weather came with a vengeance this past week where we have had days with wind chills of  20 degrees BELOW ZERO!  Luckily it has warmed back up into the 30's. (Yes, that's warm in December to a Wisconsinite, lol!)

Hopefully you have been keeping warm in your neck of the woods.

Happy Winter!

(26)Look at the birds in the sky; they do not sow or reap, they gather nothing into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are not you more important than they?

A Mother's Day I Won't Forget!

We had a very special Mother's Day yesterday.

My family and I spent the day at a surprise birthday party for my Grandmother's 85th birthday (My Dad's Mom).  She was so surprised and actually had the nerve to get mad at everyone for keeping it a secret from her, LOL!

It was really nice seeing everyone that I hadn't seen in years.  There was a lot of extended family there as well and the funny thing is that the people I didn't expect to remember actually remembered me, but the people I just KNEW would remember me couldn't remember my name... go figure!

My Grandmother really enjoyed herself and danced quite a few times... yes, apparently 85 year olds dance much more than us "youngsters"! lol

Here's a picture with my sisters and I, our Dad, our Grandmother and my nephew.

My sisters and I also got a picture with our mom.

My mother was so happy to get this picture.  She says she loves when she has all three of us together.

I just wish I had taken a better picture!  Tell me why I look so tired in these pictures?  Oh well, I had been up since early that morning so I'll just blame it on a long day, LOL!  That's the thing about pictures. you  never know how they will turn out until it's too late!

As soon as we got there, we started helping with the decorating and setting everything up.  Then we ended up going to the store to pick up the cake and when we came back we did even MORE setting up.  I completely forgot to bring my flats so I was doing all of that in heels.  Needless to say my feet were killing me by the time the night was over!

After I finally made it home, I was so exhausted that I fell asleep at least 2 hours earlier than I usually do.  I think everyone at the party slept good last night!

Yesterday was a Mother's Day I won't soon forget.

I hope all of you had a fabulous Mother's Day as well!

Sunday Scripture

Matthew 7:1-5 (NAB)

(1) Stop judging, that you may not be judged. (2) For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you.  (3) Why do you notice the splinter in your brother's eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye? (4) How can you say to your brother, "Let me remove that splinter from your eye", while the wooden beam is in your eye? (5) You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother's eye.

Happy 2016! (Updates)

Wow, it seems like 2015 just flew by... it's like I blinked and 2015 was over!  Now that I think about it, it feels like that every year.  It seems like the older one gets, the faster time flies!

I have been soooo behind on reading and commenting on my favorite blogs.  Not to mention posting on my own blog way less than I had planned.  There are just other things that have taken priority. There are also a few new projects I've been working on that I actually thought would be done last year but again, life happens.  Luckily everything is in the final stages so they should be done shortly.

The first project I am going to complete is sprucing up my blog. I've been doing bits and pieces here and there (you may have noticed) but there is still a lot more I plan to do.  I'm currently designing/creating my new banner and I'm revamping a few other things as well.  Everything will basically stay the same, I'll just be somewhat improving the overall look.

I've also created a new website about 2 years ago that unfortunately, got put on the back burner as well.  The homepage has been up for most of that time but it's still currently under construction while I complete the rest of the site.  The plan is to have it done no later than the end of this summer.

I absolutely LOVE designing/editing blogs and websites as well as producing/editing videos! I'm happiest when I get my creative juices flowing.  That's why I also love designing clothes, decorating, arts and crafts, etc.  Basically, anything where I can use my creativity.

Although I haven't been blogging as much as I would like, there are so many things I have been wanting to share and there are tons of topics I plan on covering.

Some of the topics I plan on covering this year include:
DIY/homemade skincare and hair care products (including shampoo)
Recipes (including meals and homemade condiments)
Food ingredient substitutes
Home remedies
Self sufficiency
Healthy living/eating
Chemical free, DIY household cleansers
Arts and crafts/knitting/sewing
Decorating
Etiquette
Spirituality

I will also be sharing FREE ways to make money from home. These are literally things you can start doing immediately and get paid anywhere from a day to a couple of weeks later!   All you will need is the internet and a computer.  I have personally tried all of the opportunities I will share with you and have made money from each and every one.

I will also get back to doing my weekly segments such as Saturday Spotlight, Photo of the Week, etc.  I will have some new segments as well.

Last but not least, I also plan to get back to making YouTube videos which will cover some of the same topics mentioned above. I can't believe I haven't made a new video in over 4 years!  The old videos are still on my channels but it's definitely time for some new ones!  I'm blessed to have continued to receive new subscribers over the years...I guess they knew deep down that I'd be back, lol.

Thanks so much to all of you who take the time out of your busy schedule to visit my blog.  It is truly appreciated.

Wishing everyone a very blessed and prosperous 2016!
